What to Know Before You Go — the Jabal al-Nour Climb, Timing & Elderly Access
This is the part most services leave you to find out on the day. Jabal al-Nour is the one site with a real climb — reaching the Cave of Hira is a 30 to 45 minute walk uphill, so proper shoes and water matter. Your driver waits at the base, so anyone not climbing — elderly travelers, young children — can rest below while the rest of the group goes up. There’s no pressure to climb it at all.
Timing changes the day more than people expect. Setting out shortly after Fajr means cooler weather and far fewer people, especially at Jabal al-Nour, so we plan the tour to start around that where we can.
Comfort for non-climbing passengers: If some of your group choose not to climb Jabal al-Nour or walk up at Arafat, your driver stays with the vehicle and keeps the engine and chilled AC running the whole time, so elderly travelers and children rest in full comfort while the others go up. Every vehicle also fits a folding wheelchair or stroller in the trunk at no extra charge, and the driver helps load and unload at each stop.
The rest of the stops vary in effort: Jannat al-Mu’alla and Masjid al-Jinn are short walks, while the mountains ask more of you.
